Solar power works by converting sunlight into electricity using solar panels, typically installed on your roof. Each panel is made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells that absorb sunlight and generate direct current (DC) electricity. This DC electricity then passes through an inverter, which converts it into alternating current (AC), the type of electricity used to power your home or business.
At Limitless Energy Solutions, we design and install solar systems that maximise energy efficiency and long term savings. Excess energy generated during the day can be stored in a solar battery or sent back to the grid, depending on your system setup.
A smart meter is essential for tracking your solar energy usage in real time. It records how much electricity your solar system generates, how much you use, and how much you send back to the grid. This helps ensure you get accurate feed-in tariffs and avoid bill shock.
Smart meters are also key for monitoring your energy habits, identifying ways to reduce consumption, and making the most of your solar investment.

During a power outage, most solar systems without a battery will automatically shut down for safety. This prevents electricity from being sent back into the grid while repairs are underway.

Follow these steps to safely restart your Energizer Homepower battery:
Turn off the battery
Turn off any circuits connected to the backup of the battery
Turn off the ‘UPS Supply Main Switch’ in the switchboard if you have one
Turn off the Battery AC isolator located next to the battery
Open the grey flap on the battery and switch the DC isolator to the down position
Wait until all lights on the battery have turned off
Turn on the battery
Turn on the Battery AC isolator
Open the grey flap and switch the DC isolator to the up position
Press and hold the on/off button until you hear three short beeps
If you hear one long beep the battery has turned off instead
Turn the ‘UPS Supply Main Switch’ back on if your system includes one
